hey, i'm LIZ
My dad taught me how to use Microsoft Word and I got to work making a cleaning and babysitting business flyer. I walked up and down the street I lived on, left them in mailboxes and even went and rang doorbells to excitedly tell my neighbors of my new venture. At the young age of 12- I knew I wanted to be my own boss and there wasn't anyone who could tell me otherwise. I went on after high school to go to college, receive enough associate degrees to equal a bachelors, hair school, certifications in different sales strategies and even did every side hustle you could ever imagine. But, I knew there was more out there for me. After exhausting every passion I thought I had, at 29 years old I was completely lost in what I wanted to do, tried everything I thought I would be good at until a little trip to Target (isn't it always?) ignited a fire inside my belly and I walked out proudly with my very first DSLR camera.
i had no idea how much effort building a business would require, but i was ready to take on the challenge.
Then i hit this really Pivotal moment where i wanted to just give up, but i didn't. i kept going.
I had my first really big year in 2018. I had booked more weddings than ever, shot at some amazing venues that were on my dream list, hit financial goals that were super ambitious and even booked a trip that I could only dream of a few years prior. But- I was exhausted. I missed my son. I missed family parties, and birthdays and more importantly it affected my quality of life. I was a shell of myself and knew the hustle was worth it- but not worth it enough to burn out. I started honing in on our business, my dream couples and creating authentic connections with people who VALUED me and cared about more than just someone showing up with a nice camera. I became laser focused on creating a process and experience that would allow myself and my team to work with couples who we only dreamed of working with, and make a living without sacrificing my happiness and sanity.
That was the exact moment it all changed for me. When I started believing everyone should have harmony in life & business...
I loved sharing my knowledge of how I was able to build my business; offering tips, tricks and guidance on how to not waste money on every course from every creative you've ever admired. Take it from me, you do NOT want to buy all the things and learn from all the educators . Have you ever heard of the saying, "too many cooks in the kitchen?" This creates more confusion and can make you feel lost in your business. I've pivoted in my careers in adulthood more times than I'd like to share and I'm so.dang.glad I did. It gave my proverbial tool belt some serious versatility and brought me here-- coaching, igniting wedding creatives passions and cheering them on to live their best damn lives unapologetically.
And now i'm going to help you do the same.
I started this business with less than $1,000 to my name (yes- you read that right. total.) student loan debt more than a mortgage, 3 weddings booked for the following year and a newborn at my dining room table. Evergreen Weddings has grown into a six figure, debt free small business who wants to help you do the same. Now, let's start building your sustainable, profitable wedding business I know you deserve.
